Birdbone Theatre makes puppet shows from scratch and plays them live for the young and the old. We strive to make puppet theatre that might become a house for beauty, for remembering old songs and stories, for wild imaginings and for laughter in hard times. The Song House Cabaret will feature Minion and Meatpaw from Birdbone’s One Thing At A Time Hunger Show (puppeteered by Aleksandra Bragoszewska).

Chanter la Pomme, featuring Alison Gowan (QC) and Jan Le Clair (ON), blends the drone-based timbres of hurdy gurdy and accordion to create dynamic interpretations of traditional and neo trad dance music and songs from Central Europe and beyond. Formerly members of Swamp Ward Orchestra, Jan and Alison draw on a wide variety of musical influences, from classical to Klezmer. janleclairaccordion.com/chanter-la-pomme

The Lindworm’s Cabaret is an original work of musical theatre by Haley Sarfeld. A three-song excerpt will be sung by Alison Gowan, Haley Sarfeld, and Rogan Gowan, with accompaniment by the House Band.
The Lindworm can be found where you least expect it. A video excerpt from the Lindworm’s Cabaret (Watershed Festival, 2023) is available on YouTube. Haley sometimes posts about this and other projects on Instagram.

The Song House Cabaret Band includes Alison Gowan (bass/hurdy gurdy), Jan Le Clair (accordion), Laura Murray (cello), Christos Smirnios (percussion), and Rogan Gowan (piano/saxophone). Many of the tunes the house band will be playing come from their previous lives as Swamp Ward Orchestra.
A delightful early evening of fun raising, hosted by Minion and Meatpaw and friends of The One Thing At A Time Hunger show, featuring death-defying music and mayhem!
